Abstract

To eliminate sound bridges, the walls have to be separated by a vertical insulating joint. In this article, we are looking at the various ways in which an insulating joint might be provided. The construction methods described apply in particular to housing in the German-speaking regions of Europe. Cutting an insulating joint in an existing building has been done using a new diamond-based sawing device.
